Authors Republic Royalty Reports
How to find and download your Authors Republic audiobook payout statements
Authors Republic is an audiobook distribution platform that delivers your titles to major retailers and library services. This guide explains how to find, download, and upload your Authors Republic payout statements to Familiar for automatic royalty calculation and multi-contributor tracking.
Step-by-Step Guide
Log into Authors Republic
Visit authorsrepublic.com and sign in to your account.
Go to the Reporting Dashboard
Click Reporting Dashboard in the left sidebar. This is where all your earnings and payout data lives.
Select the Royalty Payouts tab
Along the top you'll see several tabs: Royalty Earnings, Unofficial Royalty Earnings, Royalty Payouts, Narrator Payments, and Spotify Demographics. Click Royalty Payouts.
Download the Export Report
Find the month you want and click the Export Report download icon on the right side of that row. This downloads an XLSX file containing your payout statement for that month.
Upload to Familiar
In Familiar, go to Royalties → Upload and select Authors Republic as the distributor, then upload the .xlsx file you downloaded.
What's in Your Authors Republic Report
Included Data:
- • Audiobook titles
- • Units sold (aggregated across all channels)
- • Royalty earnings in USD
- • Tax deductions
- • Earnings month
Good to Know:
- • Data is pre-aggregated by title (one row per book)
- • Transaction fees and net earnings are shown as summary rows
- • Payout history is available from Jan 2020 onwards
- • Reports are generated after royalty earnings are officially closed for that month
Common Issues
Don't see the Royalty Payouts tab?
Make sure you have an approved account, an active payment account, and have met your minimum payout amount. The Royalty Payouts tab only appears once these conditions are met.
Wrong tab — Royalty Earnings vs. Royalty Payouts
Make sure you're on the Royalty Payouts tab, not Royalty Earnings. The Royalty Payouts tab provides the downloadable payout statement files that Familiar can parse.
Missing recent data?
Payouts are processed monthly after royalty earnings are officially closed for a given month. If you don't see a recent month, the payout may not have been processed yet.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Downloading from the wrong tab
The Royalty Earnings tab shows different data than the Royalty Payouts tab. Always download from Royalty Payouts using the Export Report button.
Uploading the wrong file format
Familiar expects the .xlsx Payout Statement file. If you have an older .csv Detailed Royalty Earnings Report, download the newer Payout Statement from the Royalty Payouts tab instead.
