Most ARC programs end up as a spreadsheet, a shared folder and an inbox full of review links. Familiar keeps every title’s readers, copies and reviews together.

Listings and access

Decide who can get a copy, title by title.

Each book gets its own listing. Make it public and any reader in the catalog can get a copy straight away. Require approval and you decide on every applicant. Make it private and it stays out of the catalog, open only to readers you invite.

Readers

Bring your reviewers, then choose the rest.

Upload a CSV, invite readers by email, invite a saved reader list, or share an invite link in your newsletter. Readers who accept are approved automatically.

Public and approval-required listings also appear to readers browsing Familiar’s ARC reader community. Before you approve anyone, you see their verified reviews, how often they finish, and how long they take.

Traceable copies

Every copy carries the name of the reader it went to.

You upload each file once. Familiar prepares a separate copy for every approved reader: the PDF with their name stamped across each page, the EPUB with a first page made out to them. Both carry a copy reference, so a file that turns up where it shouldn’t shows whose it was.

Reviews and reporting

See who reviewed, who hasn’t, and who needs a nudge.

Readers add a link to each review they post. Familiar checks Amazon and Goodreads links itself, and lists the rest for you to confirm. Reminders go out to readers who haven’t downloaded and as the review deadline nears, and you can send one yourself. Each title’s report follows readers from application to verified review.

How a Familiar ARC program runs

  1. Create the listing

    Pick the book, choose who can get a copy, set a reader limit and a review deadline, and upload the EPUB and PDF.

  2. Invite and approve

    Invite your reviewers, open the listing to readers on Familiar, and approve the applicants you want.

  3. Readers download

    Each approved reader downloads a copy prepared for them, with their name on it.

  4. Track the reviews

    Review links come in, Amazon and Goodreads are checked, reminders go out, and the report fills in.
