INaudio Royalty Statements

Formerly Findaway Voices. How to bring your monthly audiobook statement into Familiar

INaudio is the audiobook distributor formerly known as Findaway Voices. Findaway's founders bought the business back from Spotify, and INaudio took over royalty processing on August 1, 2025. If you published audiobooks through Findaway Voices, your statements now come from Voices by INaudio. Statements for sales processed through July 31, 2025 stay in your Spotify for Authors account; INaudio can't access them.

The File You Need

Monthly royalty statement (.xlsx)

The workbook starts with a Summary sheet (period, invoice date, amount due, advance balance), followed by one sheet per sales channel, such as Library, A-La-Carte or Subscription. Familiar reads every channel sheet and skips the Summary. Upload the workbook as it is, without re-saving it in another format.

How to Get Your Statement

1

Sign In to Voices by INaudio

Sign in to your Voices by INaudio account. According to INaudio's help center, statements are kept in the royalty reports section of your account.

2

Download the Month's Statement

Download the Excel statement for the month. INaudio doesn't document the exact button labels, so look for the royalty reports or statements list in your account. If you work with INaudio as a publisher partner rather than through Voices, ask [email protected] how your statements are delivered.

3

Upload to Familiar and Check the Month

Upload the workbook. Familiar recognizes it as INaudio when the filename contains “inaudio”. Then check the month: Familiar guesses it from the filename, and INaudio's filenames can lead to the wrong year. Set it to the month shown as the Period on the Summary sheet.

Why Your Statement Lags Behind Sales

INaudio groups sales by when retailers report and pay them, not by when a listener bought the book. Most retailers report monthly with a one-month delay; Audible and hoopla report with a two-month delay, and some, such as Storytel, report quarterly. INaudio publishes the current schedule in its help center.

This is why a statement won't match INaudio's sales dashboard, and why a month in Familiar reflects the statement period rather than the month of the sale. Royalties are paid monthly, within 30 days of INaudio receiving payment from the retailer.

What Familiar Imports

  • • Title, ISBN and quantity sold for every line on each channel sheet
  • • Revenue as gross revenue, and Royalty Payable (in its payable currency) as your royalties. If a sheet has no Royalty Payable column, Familiar uses Royalty Earned.
  • • Sales channel from the Partner column (for example, hoopla), or from the sheet name when Partner is blank
  • • Territory and currency for each line

Library sales through INaudio can include hoopla borrows. If you also have a direct hoopla account, make sure no title reaches hoopla both ways. Otherwise its borrows appear in both reports and are counted twice.

Troubleshooting

Sales show up in the wrong month: the month was set from the filename. Reprocess the statement with the month from the Summary sheet's Period.

An error about a missing ISBN # column: one channel sheet has been edited or renamed. Download a fresh copy from INaudio.

Low per-unit amounts on library lines: “Pay Per Use” library sales earn a small royalty per checkout rather than the full list price.
